KEYWORDS ABOUT THE SCOPE
Imposition of Parameters:There is no such rigid imposition of conditions for imagination except as and where mentioned. Architects and engineers are given the freedom to explore the ‘Symbol’ that will embody a soul that stirs its own people as well as people from across the world.
From Individual Interpretation to Inspiring India: Architects and engineers are free to assimilate the different notions and ambitions that will be captured with the individuality of their expression. But it is critical to remember that the ‘Symbol’ must appeal and reach out to the people of India as a whole and inspire them as a collective.
The Aspect of Buildability:It must be designed from the point of view to be fabricated and built. The fact that it will be installed cannot be foregone at any phase of conceptualisation. The ‘Symbol’ should not be projected as a design that cannot be realised.
The Base Material for Design: Across the world, steel hollow sections have created immortal architectural and engineering Symbols that have inspired people. For the purpose of fabrication and transportation, the material is underlined for its scope and convenience. Therefore, while architects and engineers are given the choice of combining it with any other material, steel hollow sections must be the primary component of the ‘Symbol’. In the rare case, if the participant wishes to use any other base material, then they must provide a valid justification for it. This information will then be up to the discretion of the jury to be judged as deemed appropriate.
The Available Height and Footprint: The restriction for the height and footprint of the ‘Symbol’ is 30 ft (approx. 10 m) and 30 ft x 30 ft (approx. 10 m x 10 m) respectively. For any reason, if the participant wishes to exceed the given height or footprint, then they must provide a valid justification for it. This information will then be up to the discretion of the jury to be judged as deemed appropriate.
