Track 5 - 361°: Foundations


The Foundations session is a showcase of masters / icons who have laid the foundation stone in creating benchmarks in their fields (theatre, film, art, architecture & photography). The session will see them coming together to share their experiences and their journey to an audience of 800 delegates across three days.


Three sessions across three days will be presented as a panel discussion moderated by award winning Turks from varied fields related to art and architecture. The sessions will mark a cross section of creative personalities share the foundation of their ethos and the individuals that inspired it.

ART

Atul and Anju Dodiya
Atul and Anju Dodiya are well-known Indian artists from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Atul began exhibiting his work in the early 1980s. He carried out further academic training at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris from 1991 to 1992, subsequent to a scholarship awarded by the French Government. Anju has held two solo shows at Gallery Chernould, Mumbai. She has also participated in 'In Small Format' Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, 1993, 'Women Artists' Hyderabad 1994, 'Recent Trends in Contemporary Indian Art' Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi, 1995 and 'Cinemascape An Artists' Tribute to 100 years of Cinema' Lakhereen Gallery, Mumbai, 1996.


THE PRACTICE AS A CLASSROOM

 
Three eminent architects Sen Kapadia, Christopher Charles Benninger and Prem Chandavarkar - who always consider the process of learning as the foundation of their practice - will be a part of this session.


THEATRE

Atul Kumar
Curator: Atul Kumar is the Director of The Company Theatre. Based in Mumbai, The Company Theatre has won the respect and admiration of the artistic community in India as well as in other parts of the world. The Company Theatre has amongst its members, professionals who have many years of experience on national & international platforms. The Company Theatre has always encouraged inter-cultural exchanges and has supported any initiative that explores new forms of artistic expression.
